“Darlene is the matriarch. Good luck going near when she’s around.” 

Darlene was a foal when the national park was established, making her one of the oldest members of Black Coast Reserve. But don’t let her age fool you, she wears her crown proudly as the leader of the largest herd, chasing off young challengers without much difficulty.

Because of her standing, Darlene is the most sought after horse on guided tours, and while she tolerates the publicity, she becomes incredibly protective if someone comes too close to one of her herd mates or foals. She has bonded  to Molly  Catherine, and the pair rule the reserve together.
