A jovial and down to earth mare. Shes a bit rugged, a bit bold sometimes, but that just adds to her charm. Hughes likes to be out and about doing ranger work, the trails call for her so to speak. Somedays she also enjoys a bit of showing at an event, such as trail classes or even to dust off her old dressage skills. Theyre from a different life, but she still carries them with her.

Years ago, she was owned by a riding camp, where she certainly must have been beloved and sought after for her smooth, floaty gaits and her both gruff looks but jovial, a bit rugged and down to earth character.

Hughes has scarring on her shoulder and lost a back leg. She went toe to toe with a pack of feral dogs that invaded the camps barn and even successfully drove them off, at the cost of a grave injuy to her leg. It wasnt too expensive to fix, certainly within the barns means, but woulve left her on stall rest for a year or more.
A mouth that could not earn its keep was one that had to go, no matter how well shed performed or how much she loved.

She was subsequently shuffled from auction to auction, her stunning looks perhaps keeping her in the loop for longer. Sick and with her leg beyond saving, a rescue tried to raise money to pull her, knowing shed have to be put down.
