Costume Party

It's almost been one year since the Skeleton began to officialy — as a "living being" that is — hangout at the farm so these two have been training their "baking" skills by making mud-cakes together in the paddock all morning, gathering twigs, rocks, all different types of leaves and someitmes even slugs and worms to decorate with, arranging quite a banquet.

While they admired their pastry skills, some of the other horses were busy gossiping. They had overheard the humans talking about a big Costume Party happening nearby, with the details passing from pony to pony, until Solimar and the Skeleton caught wind of it.

With a quick glance at one another — one snort, one rattle — they knew exactly what ther next adventure would be!

They snuck in through the dressing tent in the back where they found a bunch of props and  paint laying around unattended and spent a good while having their fun and experimenting - doodling silly things on Solimar’s coat, swapping hats and dresses, getting Solimar stuck on tiny outfits made for humans...

After much trial and error, they finally found the perfect theme: a Dead Pirate Headless Horseman riding his fearsome Skeleton Horse! And the finishing touch was a dramatic proclamation-style pose - which the Skeleton vaguely remembers seeing somewhere a long long time ago.

When they started going around showing off their costume the humans were obviously suspicious and, of course, very impressed by how uncannily realistic the “skeleton costume” looked. The see through bones, the skull in his hand, the eerie way it moved… It was all a bit too real compared to how inocent the horse looked. But the whole point of this afternoon was having fun so, despite everyone being a bit weirded out but the suspicious duo, in the end all of them simply shrugged off and enjoyed the festivities.
