Phase 1 - Gaining Trust

I found myself back at Sagebrush this year. I had gotten a call that they had another project horse for me since I did so well with Termite last time, but they said this one wouldn't be as easy he was. The barn manager emailed me the mare's information on paper she didn't seem too bad a little TLC would fix her right up I thought. Well I just got back from visiting her and lord is she a feisty one. I mean ANYONE who walked by her pen would get snapped at or charged at. She was even charging at the farms poor dog.  

I stood by her pen with the manager going over how we would tackle getting her back home and the whole time she was glaring at or it felt like she was. I tried to coax her with treats but she wasn't having any of it, turning away or stamping every time I put my hand out to her. I did notice something that wasn't mentioned by the sagebrush manager. A flock of geese flew over head and just the sound of them honking alone sent her into a full panic. I'll have to test my theory once we get her home but I have a feeling she didn't have a good experience with some birds in her past life. 

That's all I got for now, looks like I got my work cut out for me with this one, I'll make sure to keep you updated on our progress with her.
