Lovely Ride

I walked in the barn, checking if my horse had enough food. It was already late and the sun was setting down. It has been a tiring day, I had trained some of my horses and my little cousin came to ride a horse, Shayla, so I had to monitor her. 

“Who do I get to ride, Aunt Vic ?” asked my cousin Corice.

“Shayla. She needs to train a little bit with other riders. She's not mean, just a little too cuddly with me, you gotta keep her with you” I said, Shayla was a nice horse, one of the nicest in the barn, but she was also really cuddly and always wanted to stay next to me. 

The ride wasn't that bad, as her usual habits, Corice was letting her reins free at the beginning of the course and, as expected, Shayla came towards me. “Don't let her come near me” I must have said multiple times during the lesson. 

After the course, I stayed with my cousin, watching her brush the dot patterned loshenka. Shayla’s ear twitched as she noticed I was standing outside of her stall. She left my cousin alone and came towards me, extending her head towards me. I chuckled and pet her, while my cousin came closer to brush her coat again. She was picking up her feet when I left to go feed the few horses that didn't eat yet. 

I walked in the barn, I heard the usual sound of heining around me. My cousin had left a few hours from now, her mom has came to pick her up. Then I heard the sound of hooves following me, I sighed and turned around. Shayla was standing behind me, seemingly happy to see me, extending her head towards mine. 

“What are you doing out of your stall ?” 

I petted her neck, I looked at her dots and looked at her. She was in a stall during the night, as she was the kind of horses to get cold easily. I walked towards her stall and she started following me again. Before, I would have said that it was usual, she would break free easily from her stall and come after me. Now, I know how to deal with it and the stall is better-made. I guess I forgot to tell my cousin to lock it everywhere. I walked in her stall and she followed me. 

It has been a few minutes, at least 40 minutes. I’ve been sitting in shayla’s stall, her form laying next to me. I kept petting her, I yawned. I laid ok the floor, I heard Shayla moving slightly. I closed my eyes. 

When I woke up, Shayla's head was laying on top of me. I petted her slightly. I didn't move, I didn't want to wake her up. I looked outside, it was still dark, probably one or two hours as passed but definitely not the whole night. I sighed, I had to go check on the other horse but I also had to eat and have some rest. I moved her head slightly and stood up. She looked up at me but stayed down, I smiled then got out of her stall and closed the door. I heard her moving a bit as I walked away from her stall.
