No Gate Required
It was windy but clear, it was warm but the wind made the weather crisp, the grass let out a gentle 'shaa' as it bowed to the force of the wind. The sun had been risen for a time just an hour and a half to its peak.
A young Loshenka stallion grazed on the soft spring grass in his pasture. He was a creamy white with a darker tint on his hocks and shoulders, his newly shed coat reflected the sun brilliantly, you'd think he was satin. His tail was split into three sections and beaded on each in decoration. Reece jogged down the wooded path to the white fenced pasture, the grass was still a little dewy under the shade of the tree line so she kept caution upon her bare footed steps. She had gone the traditionally wrong way to the pasture so she would have to clear the fence but she had done this many times before so it wasn't of much concern to her, in fact she rarely used the right way of entering the white fenced pasture. The gate for the pasture was north and down the path of the estate's driveway where the entrances to many of the other facilities were. But the path she nearly always took was west of the housing building and through a small but thick tree line.
Reece took this path not only for its quickness of transport but also to bypass any estate staff or fellow boarders. She would otherwise be a little more restricted to her attire, and choice of tack to both of which she preferred the bare minimum over the stuffiness of riding pants and confining english tack on her poor Mirza.
When she reached the white fence she slowed down. The fence was just short enough her head could see over top of it. Before she reached a stopped pace she placed her hand on the top board of the fence and vaulted her body over the fence, sticking the landing on her bare feet and continuing her jog pace. Her horse Mirza was never far from this point of the pasture for he knew this was the place his rider took route to see him. It took her no time to spot the sleek lean horse in the pasture, and him to her.
Like the reunion of long departed family the trodded toward each other with fondness. A smile pushed Reece's peachy lips to her cheeks. Reece opened her arms to embrace the chest of her horse and stroked his neck. Mirza swung his tail and the beads on his hair clacked together softly.
" Mirza, I'm so terribly agitated by the stuffiness of my lodging. I can't stand to be inside any longer than my rest" she giggled.
The lodging for students on the estate was very comfortable but Reece couldn't stand being inside even if she was quartered in a grand palace, her place was outside with her feet in the grass and dirt, and she'd sleep out there if the estate staff would permit it.
Mirza understood Reece perfectly well even though their mother tongues were not mutually intelligible, he was a very understanding stallion, with extreme patience and wisdom well beyond his age he was almost always in an imperturbable state but leaned on the spookier side.
" let's take a break together and pick the mulberry tree for breakfast. Yes?"
While the horse had no answer of vocal response he agreed in his own way. The way they understood each other, their own language without need of any sort of verbalization, just trust.
Reece steeped to his left side and Mirza accepted this pressure, kneeling down to shreds it was possible for Reece to mount him with little to no hoist. He was a rather tall stallion and it would be difficult for Reece to mount him on her own even as tall she was. When Mirza felt her balanced mount upon his back he lifted himself from his bow, correcting his posture securely. Now most equestrians would pause here and say " she has no tack or riding attire of any kind, how is this possible" and you would be mostly right for Reece and her stallion are fairly young and probably not experienced enough to be doing such a possibly dangerous activity as to ride bareback with no bridle nor even neck reign, but this is between Reece and Mirza and they have done this many times before so they are not worried, they had learned to speak to one another without use of words. If words are of no need then they supposed there was also no need of tack, for a saddle would separate their closeness and a bridle would contradict their trust. Now let us continue.
Reece used slight touches to guide Mirza and he caught all of them with sensitivity and tact, it was not control it was total and utter partnership. She gently contstricted her calves to nudge Mirza's sides and he took gait with quickness, when Reece leaned and touched his neck he turned. Then ran swiftly and approached the white pasture fence with quickness. Reece postitioned herself and readied for a balanced clear of the fence. Mirza ran to the fence, noting Reece's change of position he adjusted to jump the fence like he and Reece had done a multitude of times. He slowed just slightly before they met the fence and launched himself up, his fining momentum carrying him forward. When they reached mid air, releasing themselves from confines of hard earth Reece felt a rush, the wind tousled her short blonde hair, pressed her breezy clothes on her, she felt complete. She spread her arms to feel the wind as they jumped through the air. It may or may not be true but naery had you seen a horse and girl have such complete joy in each other.
