A New Loshenka (With Protection)
It was once again a time where the stables were looking for some new acquisitions. The focus was on adult, started horses that showed promise within their disciplines should further training and experience be provided. Loshenkas would be a new breed for those at the farm, but preliminary research into the breed sparked much interest.
PF Pasha was a young stallion with a very pretty bay pearl coat. He had a fairly calm temperament, but wouldn’t hesitate to put weaker males into their places. He had good groundwork laid to start showing in the English disciplines, and showed good rhythm and balance that would be excellent for dressage.
The primary trainer that would be working with this new horse, should the purchase go through, took the trip to his home stable. Conversations had gone well so far, but it was always advised to see the horse in person first before completing the sale. A check over by a veterinarian had been completed the day before and besides him being a bit overweight and having some minor pasture nicks, he was all set.
“Wow, he really is a stunner,” The trainer said upon laying their eyes on Pasha in person. Pictures could only convey so much. The breed itself was very elegant and eye-pleasing. The trainer was very fond of his clear green eyes and subtle dappling. Looks were not everything, but he certainly had them.
Pasha was curious towards this stranger that had come and stared at him. This person had come, looked at him, walked him in circles and picked up his feet. He entertained the human and co-operated for the most part. He was a little uncomfortable with being picked at such as with his feet and ears, and generally being felt up for condition, but he was simply not used to this. His curiousity was further peaked when after a handshake and some paperwork, large shipping boots were brought over,
It was confirmed. PF Pasha would be the new stallion to join the stables. The pearl bay stallion stretched his head to reach for boots being put on him. The trainer didn’t exactly appreciate the help but chuckled as they pushed his face away.
“Should I be careful with his tail?” Pasha’s new owner wondered. Unfortunately for them, however, the person they had been talking to had walked away already.
The trainer looked at Pasha, “Welp. Better safe then sorry?”
A pool noodle was cut lengthwise and fasted with some Jerry-rigged strapping to the stallion’s tail. He had a long trailer ride ahead of him, and being new to caring for the breed, the trainer was sticking to the cautious side. Pasha had protested this happening by swishing his tail away from the noodle while it was being fastened, but he once again let the human do as it wished out of curiosity for the strange creature.
Pasha was led outside and loaded into the horse trailer. In a few hours from now he would be at his new home exploring the unfamiliar paddocks and stalls.
