Lucid as a Scarecrow!

The moon was low in the cornfields, and the light was dim. Upon a long stick sat a cute scarecrow, made just to scare the bird from the corn. We built this scarecrow with love and with a whole bunch of straw! He wears a red plaid shirt, and some ripped up blue jeans. His little hat is made of straw, tightly woven and placed on his cute ears.  His tail hangs high and mighty, daring and birds to get close. For this Scarecrow has a secret! When the moonlight is shining brightly, he comes alive! He walks within the fields, making sure that it is safe from wandering eyes. During the summer time, he is tucked away and fed grain as an offering. Each year he comes back to help the farmers with their crops, but each year something strange happens! One single corn goes missing. They aren't sure why or how, but they believe it is their Scarecrow. See, the farmers don't know about his ability to come alive. However they enjoy offering him things anyway. Some days, the farmers young daughter will go out and brush the scarecrows tail, and dust him off. She will even adjust his clothes so that he looks his best. One night, the little girl went to check on the scarecrow. The moon was high and shining brightly. She got to the field and realised he was gone! She called out for him and he quickly ran to her. She was so surprised! But, they instantly bonded and she told him she would keep his secret. For many years, the girl visited the scarecrow when the moon was shining brightly. They became best friends, and now that she owns the farm, she leaves him offerings as well. It turns out, apple pie was actually his favorite!
