Phase #3 Run Down The Beach With Me

Harper had been working with Teddy for quite a while. Recording every little step with him. Over the course of weeks, she had taken the stallion to the water. Almost a whole week with absolutely no progress and almost getting a kick to the head from the stallions sheer panic. She loved him but that hoof striking right next to her face. That was terrifying. She had felt the air breeze past her ear. The stallion had been all cuddly and doing silly things for the rest of the day after that. Harper saw that as an apology, the best kind of apology anyone could ever possibly get. He was a large puppy dog of a horse honestly. The stallion eventually came around, getting one hoof in the water. It was a wonderful day, she couldn't even believe she had managed to even get him that close to the water. Over the time she had Teddy under her care, she had gotten his full trust. He had even let her ride him into the water eventually. It was wonderful! Next was getting the bay stallion to go over a bridge. Back on the ground she was. He did not react well for the first good while. Rearing, bucking, trying to run, squealing, those were all common things to encounter during this. Just like before. During this time she unfortunately had to take a day off during this process. As Caramel had given birth, it was a set of twins which somehow went unnoticed. It was such a surprise to have twins. Harper ended up hands full, a makeover horse, her previous makeover horse, as well as now twin foals. It was so saddening to her that she no longer had as much time to work with Teddy as she did when it was only him and Caramel to worry about. But in the end she had gotten him to go over that bridge with pure confidence. Whatever happened to him, whatever traumatised this poor gorgeous horse, he was healing from it. That weakened bit of muscle that she had been informed of by Mark, she had gotten those all strengthend up as well. Everything had been going wonderfully.

Onto present day, she was on the trail with Teddy. They were heading off to the beach, which had turned into the stallions most favourite place ever. He had such a pep in his step, his trot being so bouncy right now. He knew exactly where the two were headed. There journey through the forest trail was lovely. It was so incredible that Maple Wood had expanded their grounds recently as the area needed expansions due to a growth in popularity but Mr Thompson really truly wanted lots of space for trails and hated removing from the natural landscape. Watching a doe run across the path with her twin fawns was incredible. She couldn't believe how good Teddy had reacted to them coming out of no where not far ahead of them. There it was the forest was opening up to the beach. She gave the stallion a squeeze and made a clicking noise. Off they went, Teddy was fast, fastest horse she had ever ridden. Full gallop right to the beach. It was so much fun. Especially considering she was riding bareback, all she had was a neck rope. He was so incredible, honestly Teddy listened best with the least amount of tack possible. Through the water the two went, life couldn't be better with her new friend.

- Description: Crossing water or bridges is a monumental challenge for this horse. They freeze at the sight of a stream or bridge, refusing to take a single step forward. No amount of coaxing or encouragement seems to alleviate their fear.
