BONUS PROMPT 1 - Report Card

(this is what is written under the red highlighted section on the paper, it is only counted once for lit xp but i wanted to paste it here for easier reading for staff!)

6452 is a purebred imported Loshenka mare, who came to us from a show barn, who had to rehome her due to extreme displays of aggression. Owner states that she started showing signs of food aggression upon starting training as a rising four year old, aggressive towards both horses and humans whenever food was involved. They began to feed her alone in a stall, which worked at first, but then she began to exhibit signs of stall/barrier aggression. We have seen this displayed here, and have kept her in a quarantine paddock, otherwise she would lunge at horses who shared a fence with her. Improvement has been seen in her food aggression with 24/7 access to haynets, but no change in barrier aggression has been observed. Once she is taken out of her pen, she walks in hand, stands to be groomed and for the farrier, and responds well under staddle. She must go to an experienced individual, with the space to prevent her from injuring herself and others. Well built and moves nicely. She has intermediate show jumping and dressage training. She has great potential in a variety of disciplines. Once her aggression is handled she will make a great show prospect.

She is up to date on all vaccinations, and has had a full examination by our veterinary team, who has ruled out pain as a cause of aggression.

She is currently under the care of Theresa Sutton, who, at the halfway check in point, reported that 6452 (now known as “Magpie”) is making progress with the introduction of 24/7 access to hay and forage. Theresa will be participating with Magpie in the Final Exhibition Show hosted by Sagebrush Sanctuary. After the show, Miss Sutton will make the final choice to keep Magpie, or surrender her back to the sanctuary.
