After settling them in and stocking up their stall with hay and fresh bedding the oh so 'busy' farmhand went about with his morning chores. Much to his surprise however, the sweet little horse continued following him around the whole time. Nickering softly and nuzzling their nose against him, it was clear they were just as desperate for a friend as Frank was to have a minute to himself...
They truly were the sweetest horse, though each soft movement had his mind racing back to past memories with his beloved late stallion. The soft noises, the nudges.. Beautiful bittersweet memories flooded his mind, ones he had thought were repressed. He turned around to finally face them, though the face of his late horse stared right back at him. Their eyes.. that gentle sweetness.. almost identical.
He couldn't take it anymore, anger and frustration bubbled up inside him and spilled out before he could think on his actions. He shouted, sobbed, screamed. The poor sweet mare startled, running off through the pasture in fright.
Frsnk immediately felt guilty for being so cruel to such a kind sweet horse. She was only trying to care for him, when he needed it the most. He covered his eyes, the tears spilling freely now as he turned his back and let her run.
