[Phase 2] the companion sheep arrives

Rattling sounded in the feed room as the two workers got feed prepared for stable block J.

“The new stallions a bit of a wild card isnt he?”

“Not really. Hes just… wary of people.”

“Do you think forte can actually yknow, get him ready to ride?”

“Well. they might not be able to but all it cares about is getting him healthy and happy.”

“Yeah. sounds about right.” the first worker responded with a slight sigh. “Hey, forte, you good over there bud?” goat snapped out of it’s little daydream looking at them.

“Yeah- im good.” it responded, continuing to get a feed bucket made for the okapi stallion.

“How do you even plan to show him that humans arent that bad?”

“A sheep.”

“...sheep?”

“...what do you mean “a sheep?”” goat responded, “a companion sheep. Specifically one that isnt scared of people. There should be one down on the farm.” it shrugged.

“Hm.”

Goat walked down the dirt path carrying the bucket. One of the stable cats following along on the fence. Up in front they could see the stallion, head over the fence looking around, soon turning to look at goat. Goat did not change its behaviour, still walking closer with the feed before watching the loshie snort and run off. Goat chuckled slightly, putting the feed bucket down on the grass after climbing over the fence and then back over, watching the ragdoll walk closer with a “mrrrp”.

Goat absentmindedly petted the cat as it watched the as of yet unnamed stallion. He was stood on the other side of the field, staring at goat. The dried dirt on his body hiding some of his stripes and part of his blaze. Goat sighed slightly.

“One day.” it muttered, picking up the cat and walking off.

The next day came and goat arrived at the stables, but wasn't alone in the car. A small jacob ewe was with it. As soon as it got out and got opalecence’s headcollar on they were off down the path to the fields. The sheep happily followed, looking around.

She wasnt the only one.

The stallion noticed, tilting his head slightly as he saw the sheep. Getting to the gate, goat took the headcollar off of opalescence, patting her on the head slightly before leaving her in the field, still sticking by to watch. Opal immediately began to graze as the stallion watched, curiosity setting in he approached. Opal looked up hearing him getting closer, tilting her head. The stallion sniffed at the sheep as she just went back to grazing.

It worked.

A few days later and they were both inseparable. Often seen grazing next to each other. Even getting as far as goat being able to get into the field and petting opal without the stallion running away as it got close.

It wouldn't be long before he would trust them enough to begin to help him.
