Chapter 1: The First Encounter 

Rosalina had always had a soft spot for horses that needed some extra love and attention, so she decided that it was finally time to try something new. After the departure of her last backing livery, on a whim she signed up to be part of the Loshenka makeover, especially as she has been working closely with the breed for quite some time now. 

“Todays the day!”, she exclaimed to Empress, her beloved loshenka mare. Empress wasn't very impressed, the mare sighed and went back to eating the fresh summer grass. “I should probably check up on Star”, she thought to herself.

Star: “Heyyyyyy, whats’ up Rosa?”

Rosalina: “Are you close yet?” 

Star: “Yeah! About 5 mins away. He’s quite a handful, I can see him on the horsebox camera and he does not look happy in there! Anyways I’ll see you in a bit.” 

Rosalina was so thankful to Star for picking up the auction horse. They have both agreed upon this as Star had a livery sales horse to pick up in the same area. Rosalina checked her to-do list one last time. “Bedding, check”. “Hay, check”. “Field, check”. As Rosalina checked the last item on her to-do list, she heard the gates to the yard open. She excitedly headed over to the car park, where Star began to step out of the horse box. “Ready?”, Star asked. “Ready as I’ll ever be” Rosalina exclaimed. Together they opened the horse box and lowered the ramp and the silhouette of a horse began to appear - a beautiful bay spotted stallion. She instantly knew that he was a force to be reckoned with.

“Woah, easy boy, you're ok” Rosalina whispered as she rushed to put the stallion's headcollar on. The stallion was anxious to get out of that horsebox, snorting,  pawing at the ground and kicking the walls as he was desperately looking for other horses. The first walk to the field was a stressful one. Even though the stallion was being led with a chain, he was trotting and pacing while Rosalina struggled to hold the stallion back. The stallion held his head high, with his neck and back arched and picked up his legs  to the sky. Rosalina thought that he almost resembled a carriage horse, or perhaps a dressage horse with a very broken passage. They finally reached the gate, luckily Star was walking ahead of them and was able to open the gate quickly. Rosalina took his headcollar off and watched the stallion gallop to the edge of the field. “They told me he was herd bound, but they conveniently left out the fact that he has severe separation anxiety” Rosalina sighed as the stallion frantically paced up and down looking for anything that resembled a horse. “How are you going to tackle this one?” Star asked. “I’m not sure Star,” Rosalina replied, “I’ll have to take it one step at a time”. “Any ideas on what you're going to name him Rosa?”, Star asked. “Mhm” Rosalina nodded, “I think I will name him Chocolate Kisses”.
