Handler: Asher

Loshenka 6546: Venom

PHASE 1:

First Impressions...

-----

Asher had applied to a rescue for a certain horse he seen. While he wasn't exactly keen on starting another big project, he felt a connection with this mare. The rescue told him that her previous barn name was, "Venom". Though, she didn't match her name in her pictures. The rescue suggested to Asher, with her current issues of tying, to simply work on her where she is located currently. He agreed given the circumstances.

When Asher arrived to the rescue they had her quarantined in a small pasture, though she was still able to see other horses. A rescue volunteer demonstrated tying her to a post. Venom proceeded to pull back harshly as soon as the volunteer got out of the pasture. The entire beem ended up cracking in half and the lead rope had snapped. Asher couldn't help but just stare in astonishment, he hadn't seen a horse like this before. The weirdest part was she didn't even try to leave after... He could've also sworn he seen her smirk at him!

Venom walked over to Asher and sniffed him and he allowed her to get used to his scent. Asher took this time to look Venom over - her hooves were a tad bit over grown along with some cracks, her tail appeared to have mangled and matted hair. Venom's appearence wasn't terrible; he had seen worse. She was a sweet mare and had a very relaxed demeanor, but he felt a connection and that was what mattered to him.

Feeling confident, he finalized the paperwork to work with Venom through her pulling issues. He gave her a nice pat on her neck before walking out of the pasture. Venom left the side of the fence line and ate some grass that was creeping in.  Asher glanced over his shoulder at her one more time with a smile before getting into his truck and driving away.

- Description: This horse will not stand to be tied. They panic and pull back hard, and have broken countless halters and lead ropes in the last few months, but rarely run off afterwards. They seem to be more interested in proving they can break free than they are in escaping.
