Phase 1: Makeover Event

I was awaken from a gaming section by my phone. It's the sanctuary I've worked with last year, did they have another problem child for me?
_Hello?
_Hey Artemis, hope you're doing well...
Me and one of the owners had a nice chat about this specific horse, another Loshenka, that had quite some behavioural issues due to very poor handling and lack of knowledge from the person who got him. It wasn't an auction pick, but surrender one, owner just couldn't deal with the issues anymore.
I was given a small background on the condition and decided to put this one under Harriet's care, I knew she's awesome in horse training, so as soon as posible I gave her a call and set up a meeting in the morning.
-From now on the POV will be from Harriet-
I arrived at the sanctuary at breakfast time and was led to their quarantine facility nearby. Artemis gave me just a hint of the issues, but left most of it to the caretaker to explain.
We stopped by a fence with 2 horses, it's a recent surrender and as much as the chestnut one bumped and nipped at the black one, they didn't fight, just spooked each other. Apparently the last was deaf and the first had no respect for personal space.
_In short, your new horse is the one with vitiligo, he was surrendered by the owner, a young person with basically no experience. He was bottle fed, didn't learn the basics of horse nor human manners and the owner mentioned some concerning behaviours when he's corrected... I didn't want to know much of the correction used, just accepted the surrender
We turned to the pair just to catch my new child nipping at a half asleep feral and deaf horse.
_Well, guess I have quite some work to do. Does he at least accept a halter properly?
My guide got a carrot from a pocket and cut it in two, catching his attention in seconds. He came to us, I let him smell my hands... and he wanted to give it a nip. I just put them away and let my friend put a halter on him, I didn't know what corrections he was sensitive, didn't want to start on the wrong page either.
I lead him to the trailer and I could totally spot the urge to invade my personal space, almost walking on my feet several times, bumping on my shoulder, he just seemed to not care at all. He'd be an interesting project.
