Phase #1 Meeting The Teddy Bear

Harper had been scrolling through her phone, seeing an advertisement for another Loshenka makeover. Quickly going to look at the horses posted to the website, her gut turned seeing the conditions of some of the poor horse. She paused to look at a horse, 6451, the poor stallion had scarring on his neck "how could anyone mistreat an animal like that" Harper would mutter under her breath with a frown. Clicking off his profile scrolling through the rest of the horses. She had gotten a good horse last year, and that horse was now pregnant. She would like new horse to work with, obviously that would mean she would be stuck working with a foal, a troubled mare, and a new troubled horse.

Hours had passed of her debating whether or not to sign up. In the end she said fuck it, their was trainers here too that could help if she truly needed. She had gone to the laptop she owned, opening it up to the application page. Filling out all her needed information. Caramel had grown to be an excellent horse and Harper hoped she could help another horse heal from any issues it may have.

A few weeks later she had gotten an email that she had been selected, and she had a horse assigned. This was so exciting, she had a horse! She was going to hopefully be able to help a new horse! Later in the day while turning out Caramel she had ran into a close friend of hers "oh my goodness! Abby you would never believe what happened!" Abigail looking over from giving Nero and his younger brother Splash treats "hm, Caramel is having twins?" the other half joked "oh no absolutely not! I hope.." she paused glancing to the palomino mare who was standing impatiently "but I got accepted into the Loshenka makeover again! I pick up my horse tomorrow" she had the biggest smile ever, the excited gasp from Abigail boosted her excitement more "oh I can't wait to see them! Hopefully you can do just as well as you had done with Caramel! Send me pics when you can" Harper agreed with her friend before saying bye, leading Caramel to the pasture. Letting her out with Booberry. The two mares running off together.

Before Harper knew it, it was the next day, she was just waking up. Kevin had driven them down, it was now 7 am. Harper was so excited to be back here "you get some rest, I can handle loading and driving back" she smiled getting a nod of acknowledgement from the older man. Kevin was a great guy, he was so helpful around the barn. She walked up to the front area where she would receive her horses information, being greeted by a kind staff member "here is Teddy's information, he was given this name by his previous owner. His number is 6479, if you exit to the left you can find a volunteer to help you find him and get him ready to load up" Harper thanked the person, hurrying off to meet a volunteer. The kind older lady brought her off to the stallion, she had to excuse herself for a moment to help someone else for a moment though. Harpers eyes got big, the stallion was gorgeous. She walked up to the fence and the stallion ran over ears perked. Stretching his neck over the fence, tongue stuck out. She giggled the bay stallion was definitely a sweet and goofy personality. Teddy was quite the fitting name. The older woman came back letting Harper into the pen with the stallion, who quickly searched for treats. Making Harper laugh, she easily slipped a halter on him who was far more willing than Caramel had been. This was wonderful, she hadn't gotten a moment to really look over what issues the stallion might have. He seemed overall healthy from what she could tell, though she was no professional and would need to thoroughly look through his file as well as get the veterinary to check him out. Leading the stallion to the trailer, he was so easy, he was so unproblematic. It was odd, he even got into the trailer nicely. What on earth was this? Was she going to get a personality switch up when she got back to Maple Wood Equestrian Centre?

She had been on the road since 9 am, it was now 10 pm, stopping to grab a coffee and snack from Starbucks. Ordering something for Kevin as well since he was up now. When she got outside with the drinks and food, Kevin was outside the car stretching. Setting the drinks and food in the front seat she walked around to talk to him "we should get Teddy out to stretch his legs, he was extremely well behaved and sweet so I'm not too worried about him running off" she said to Kevin who glanced to the grass patch near where they parked and nodded his agreement "named him already? That was a lot quicker than Caramel. But if he is really as good as you say we absolutely should, it's terrible to be stuck in that trailer for so long" she shook her head at the name bit, in her defense Caramel hadn't truly needed a name because she couldn't even hear her. She walked around to the trailer opening it up, being greeted with a joyful whinnie "hi there Teddy" she walked in untieing the stallion. Backing him out of the trailer easily. Leading him over to the grassy patch to stretch his legs and relax a bit, they still had 6 hours ahead of them "wow he is gorgeous, and he looks so healthy, you really scored with this guy" Kevin walked over, keeping his distance just incase. Teddy had came over with excitement sniffing the man and nickering. He was an extremely friendly stallion. After about 10 minutes of letting him just move around she reloaded the stallion and hopped in the passenger side. Kevin had said he didn't mind driving the rest of the way back.

Harper had pulled out the files she had on the stallion, reading through them carefully. So he was problemed but the rescue didn't know why he was like this "so he's got a fear of water and refuses to cross bridges, that's all I gotta work with? How hard could that possibly be?"
