Carnivorus Flora

Breathing heavily, we all shake, which makes loose fur patches fly all around in the new.. suspiciously dark room. I scratch off some loose fur on my neck, and Arctic practically covers the room in fur. Astoria looks very unpleased with the chunk of mane she just lost, and Khaos tried to fix a pale spot on his shoulders. "Those Pixies were absolute maniacs!" Müsli exclaimed, and Namir nodded in agreement. "Hey guys" I say calmly, staring into the dephts of this room, "I think we should rather focus on what lies ahead of us in this room...." My words lead all of the others to actually turn around and look at the room. Arctic gasped, and Namir said "Those are very dangerous plants." I sigh, and Astoria says "Why doesn't this suprise me..." Khaos rolls his eyes and murmors "We need to be very careful, please try to not touch anything for once-" Everyone nodded, and we slowly but surely step into the room. It was fully overgrown by very very dangerous looking plants. Some were very colorful, glowing in pink and neon greens. Some had fangs, some had tentacles. The whole ground was covered in tendrils and roots, leading us to have to step very cautious over the ground. Arctic seemed to be the most worried out of all of us, probably because he had a tendency to have no control over his feet and all that fluff. Astoria side eyed Arctic the whole walk through the room, probably not trusting him due to said tendencies. I focus my attention to the others... and stop immediatly, looking back, because Müsli was missing. He stood frozen in place right at the door, looking at me and frantically shaking his head. "No no no no no no!!" He stammered. I sigh, looking at the others, and trot back to him. "Come on Müsli, you can do it. Just take care of where you place your hooves and try to not step on any root.. and it will be okay!" "But.. but.. but they are everywhere!!" He stared at the covered ground. "I know, but you can do it!" Namir had gone back as well and stepped next to him. "Come, just follow me right where i step okay?" I say, smiling at him softly. "And I will be right behind you okay?" Namir said, stepping behind Müsli and softly nudging him. "Everything okay with you three?" Astoria yells over to us, the other three apparently standing to wait for us. "Yes yes, we are coming!" I answer, and then I slowly step ahead, leading the way through the carnivorus plants covering the room. Slowly but surely, Müsli did start to follow us, stepping really carefully to not touch anything. I slowly make my way to the others, Müsli and Khaos looking at us expectantly. As soon as we reach them, I slowly nod and they are starting to make their way through the plants again. It seemed to go really well up until now, maybe even.. too well. Maybe I should have known that it was too good to be true. Suddently Arctic screamed and fought and kicked and bucked around. The plants in this room immediatly started to come to life, reaching out to us with their tentacles and fangs. I scream "RUN!" at the exact same time as Khaos, with us bolting away from the plants, trying to somehow get away from the danger. Arctic, screaming and fighting, was hopelessly trying to get his tail out of the mouth of one of the plants, with Astoria immediatly jumping to him, rearing and stomping down on that plant till it spit Arctic out again. "RUN!" I command again, snapping at both of them, and then running after Müsli who, in his fear, jumped over a really big plant, running straight to the exit. Namir nearly got hit by another really big plant, and then stepping into a very unfortionate root, which made him stumble. With one jump, Khaos was with him, fighting him free with lots of stamps on the plants. "We're doing so much damage to those plants, they are surely very worthy and rare!" Astoria whimpered, reaching the door as the first one. She kicked it open and looked around. Arctic, Namir and Khaos were still in the middle of the room, trying to fight off the plants who now towered over them, trying to bite and slap them. I immediatly run back together with Astoria, attacking the Plants from behind. After a bit of struggeling, we managed to fight them away far enough, so Arctic and Khaos managed to escape. "Astoria, Khaos, Arctic - RUN!! Wait outside, I will free Namir!!" I scream, rearing up to my full size, stomping down on the plant who by now had Namir completly enclosed in its roots. The plant reared up against me, trying to fight me off, but with a few good hind leg kicks, it fell down, not moving anymore. Namir immediatly stumbled to his feet, mumbeling a thanks under his breath, and then running off towards the door, right with me directly behind him. Astoria, Khaos and Müsli were waiting behind the still open door, which now slowly started to move. "IT SHUTS!!" Namir screamed, and Arctic kicked at it, trying to make it fling open again, but it leads just to the door moving even faster. He panicked, looked at us, then at the door and ran through. Just seconds after, Namir followed, and I follow as well, right on his path, jumping and then making it through the door right in the last second. Heavily breathing I look at our little group, nobody seemed to be seriously hurt. Müsli looked frightened once again, well that wasn't that difficult for him, it was more like the norm. Astoria, if we ignore her messy hair and missing strands, looked unharmed, as well as Khaos. Just Namir and Arctic seemed to have some smaller wounds. "Are you all feeling okay?" Astoria asked, looking at everyone and inspecting Arctic's wounds very thouroughly. "Yes I'm fine!" Arctic stood up straighter, nodding. "It's just a minor wound" Namir nodded, looking at himself and then shaking off the stress. "Are we ready to get out of here?" I ask, looking around to see what lies ahead of us.

Drawlloween Promt - Carnivorus Flora 12
Part 12 of the Story "The Fate of the 6"

Once there was a legend, of the Fate of the 6. It was a creepy myth that never got told out loud, as everyone feared bad luck when talking about it openly. It was just a faint whisper in the shadows, scribbled in old notebooks, lingering in the back of people’s heads. Nobody ever dared to bring it closer to reality, to make more out of it than it was: just an old, faint whisper. But what happens when 6 friends are at the wrong time at the wrong place? I fear we will find out very soon...
