Day 1 w/ Sweep

Not even one foot off the trailer and Sweep had everyone rethinking the decision to make today his debut at the showcase. It was expected, the young stud was essentially controlled by a rock between his ears, and then the occasional sound of a feed bucket would seem to spark some thoughts too- but that was about all for Sweep's mental lightbulb. It took him a good while to settle, finally managing to stuff his face with hay while clipped to the outside of the trailer for grooming before the event. Rosie kept him company, setting a good example for what the Old Style Ranch was supposed to represent- calm and collected companions. 
As the event began, all one could do was lead and hope for the best. Sweep managed to maintain a decent walk, though found himself yanking his lead to look backwards and call out as he got further from Rosie. The trot started well, only rearing up a few times when trying to go a bit too fast for the set pace. His squaring up was the best thing he offered today, thankfully he is pretty to look. It may have been a disaster, but at least we know now to keep this silly guy back at home next year.
