Mina walked through the town square, carrying nothing but her lantern. The soft orange glow, barely lit the way.  She was cold, and seemingly lost. Mina looked around for help, but there was no-pony in sight. Mina sighed and trekked on. For three exhaustingly long days, she walked, waiting for any signs of life. Sadly, all she found was a bunny. Too bad I don't speak rabbit. She thought to herself. She laid under a tree to cozy up for the fourth night. She looked up to the stars and hoped that some day soon she might make it home again. After what felt like weeks, she finally saw a stranger walking along the trail in front of her. She quickly galloped up to him, nearly dropping her lantern as she did. "Excuse me!" She shouted to the large dark gelding. "Can you please tell me where I am? My farm had a fire and my friends and I were separated. I have been walking for days and I am really hungry." She pleaded. The stranger wore a large cloak, covering a majority of his face. "I can tell you where you are..." He said menacingly, his voice croaking. "Uh- okay. Th-thank you..." Mina stuttered nervously. "You are just outside of Appalachia. The forest is very dangerous at night." He started, "But I know of some creatures who can help guide you..." He smiled almost evilly. Mina backed up slightly, and her ears pricked back. "What- um... creatures?" She asked nervously.
The stranger took his cloak off, revealing a scar straight through his eye. Mina gulped and tried to not stare. "They are the Will-O'-The-Wisps. They can help guide you. But you will need to ask the stars for their guidance. And you must never go into the forest!" He said. Suddenly, Mina heard a noise, spooking her. She turned in the direction in came from, but saw nothing. She turned back to the stranger... but he was gone...
