Arrival & Unloading
Loshenkas: Violette Electric, Snowdrift Taigress, Sugar Skull Lollies Anthro Russian (Yakutian Laika) Riders: Tali, Laika, and mom Sena
With a hoof in the sand, there were many reasons to wonder why it had no chill. Though their acclimation had plenty of time to take effect, they had long begun to miss cold. Finally, near one of the last stops, the three were able to catch their footing. Snowdrift, the violet mare asked, is this one of the last stops or what? With a steady swivel, Snowdrift shifted her head, rump still facing the outward as she begun to make her own exit.
Violette, named for the same color of her coat, weighted the area with her dark silhouette and big, bold Bengal stripes. Rimmed with her sabino markings, the only white reprieve, she stretched. Snowdrift, on her hand, could hardly be seen as she disappeared into the lighter tones of the sand. A bright, near-pure white coat covered her own soft, sandy Bengal stripes barely apparent on her neck and spine. They shone soft and sandy as opposed to bold and dark.
No worries, I can guess why we’re here. Snowdrift replied. In a detail Violette missed, Snowdrift’s eyes strayed towards the empty spot in the two-stall trailer Lolli had come out of. In response, Violette huffed. How can you always tell?
Snowdrift, unlike Violette, came from a line of many natives and, thus, her native Russian bloodline grew thick and her ancestor’s evolution came in the form of picking up some of the small hints that their human dependents displayed. Not only that, but I wish I could’ve been around as long as she... Violette thought. With Snowdrift, Violette, and this big ol’ monster Lolli that came with them, Snowdrift’s own thoughts trailed off as she thought about these other Loshenkas here on this beach, at this event, who weren’t born and bred in Russia as she. She and her personal rider, Tali, were born together not unlike sisters with long lines of bonds. In their family, Loshenkas had been passed down.
That was, until such modern delights took Loshenkas around the world. Thus, the blue-eyed Tali decided to travel around as well. Tali would match Snowdrift’s coat as a Yakutian Laika who was mostly white expect for the black patch on her eye just under her nice tan eyebrow. The backs of her ears shone this same soft tan hue which wrapped around the back of her head and neck before the nice white chest fluffed forward. Covered in thick, soft brown and tan hues, these blotted spots trailed down her coat which was covered with a nice summer tee and shorts.
This would be her first year with their mom in the back, as she had come in such a ‘surprise’ on she and Tali’s sister Laika’s trip. Laika, on the other hand, was a common pure-white Yakutian laika with only the black markings on her trail and two patches on her face which matched her Loshenka, Violette; in their dark yet purple hue. One over each eye, topped with a black ear and still her blue eyes shone some pressure under her mother’s gaze. But with a third Loshenka, Lolli, why not let their mom come for some extra hands? As their mom, they could not and obviously would not stop her.
She smiled as she exited the car after her daughters, and went to be handed the long lead rope Lolli had been suddenly using to ‘exercise.’ Lolli, long since confidently left her trailer, pranced in a strut not unlike a passenger princess. Though her coat, like Violette’s, didn’t stand to match the sandy summer hues, Lolli seemed eager to compete. Lolli’s stripes came in the form of a phantom pattern on a dark, rich plum. Her splash white markings extended to and covered her face not unlike a sugar skull lollipop.
Lolli’s own coat would go to match their mother’s markings. As her Yakutian face was mostly grey and black, her russet, plum-like eyes shone through. The biggest, most blotted spot down her thigh past her shorts could be seen matching cleverly with her attire. The same would be true of the brown and tan blots on Tali’s legs. Meanwhile, Laika’s legs shown a mere plain white conducive to the sand.
With her huge hooves, Lolli gallivanted along like a tamed mountainside. Heavy, intimidating hoof-prints littered the shore in no time, leading to the barns. The easily excitable Lolli made no attempt to be shy, and maybe even annoyed a bit of other Loshenkas and their handlers by shoving her big friendly snout in their faces.
In no time, it would be evident that it seemed she wasn’t raised around other horses and disciplined with manners as such. Which, though a shame, had made her personality quite the quandary. But unlike Violette electric, Lolli had a saving quality. You see, Lolli’s head and legs stayed steady. I’m not that easily excitable. Violette snorted, and even still held in her excitement. Though it was harder to excite little Violette, handling a worked up Violet was no easy task as she would jump and rear.
Though controlled, Violette could only think of how embarrassing it was. Not as embarrassing as Lolli… Violette thought, as she hadn’t even yet tried to talk to Snowdrift or she. But was Violette just being just a bit too hard on the older yet childish Loshenka? Snowdrift only wished Lolli would glance their way. Yet Lolli wedged herself in-between almost every person instead.
“Okay, that’s enough!” their mother more so bragged, then equipping Lolli with the subtle blinders which would allow Lolli to relax.
“Don’t you think that’s a little unnecessary? I’m trying to get her used to other horses- you know!” Laika countered.
Their mother laughed.
“There’s a time and place for that, but right now we and this big ol’ Lolli are just being rude!”
Which, caused Laika to blush.
“Okay, okay…” with a nervous hand on her neck, she looked out towards some justified, annoyed glances and then she looked towards her sister Tali who could do no wrong.
“This gal may be pretty green, but just wait until you see her with mom on the saddle.” Tali reassured as she followed them atop Snowdrift’s back.
I thought this would be a fun idea so I went for it! Let me know if there's any mistakes. (This is my first story entry but I think I covered all my bases. I write as a hobby so I'd like to think I'm pretty good at adding a lot of detail/interactions/personality in a short piece of writing so don't be fooled by the word count until you read). Also, I thought this would be a great way to introduce all my riders and the Loshenkas they ride! Each Loshenka of mine has their own unique rider though (Russian breeds only are used) all the way from Yakutian Laikas to huskies.
