Bonus Prompt 3: Lasting Legacy

It'd been nearly 4 months since Hitomi had given birth to a beautiful 5lb 8ounce little girl. Named Sonja, she'd quickly become everyone's favorite but not as much as she was Cahira's. If Hitomi ever visited the mare's stall, which she did so often, and she had Sonja with her, Cahira all but dotted upon her. She allowed Sonja to clamber all over her, yanking on her tail and ears if she was grazing. So it was, one evening, how Lucian and Jason found them. Cahira laying down under a cherry tree, while Hitomi laid against her with Sonja, both sleeping soundly under a heavy blanket. "What do you think that mare's legacy will be?" Pondered Lucian as Jason chuckled softly, while watching as Cahira's ears tipped back to their voices before relaxing once again. "With your wife and daughter around? I'm sure that future will not only be a bright one, but a successful one." He replied as Lucian snorted softly. "Hitomi has talent, talent many of us never get to see. Cahira was just one area, in which she shone. She's very much like her beloved mother in that respect. Elena was very gifted when it came to horses and Hitomi's inherited that talent." He stated as Lucian smiled as they leaned on the fence while watching as Cahira nosed a sleeping Sonja, her ears flicking forward when Sonja mumbled in her sleep. Hitomi however, had woken minutes after hearing her coach and husband speaking. Though they were doing so in hushed tones, she could still hear them, but she was enjoying her time as both a mother and as a rider. Rolling slowly to her side, she smiled when Cahira dipped her head to nose Hitomi's hand, which was tickling her whiskered chin. "Who cares what the future holds. I'm just happy with the now." She whispered as Cahira whickered, as if in agreement.
