[PHASE TWO] Learning to get along

Tetra had always been extremely skittish around other horses, around people she is a dream. A total sweetheart with a slight nack for mischief. Having been raised solely by humans Tetra just couldn’t be around other horses by herself.

Marion sighed looking over the papers to Tetra as the storm raged on outside, her leathery hands gripping the black ink ballpoint pen lightly. She scribbled loosely in the margins as she looked at the trail camera on her desk through her peripheral. She hoped her idea would work with time. It was risky putting a broodmare with a horse that wasn’t used to other horses, but in her mind a mother horse knows best how to teach.

The introduction process was slow, from introducing them on leads, having them walk together on leads along the Dungeness Spit, these first interactions just had to be supervised. Just then- and only then once Tetra was more confident with Síofra they would be put to pasture to hash it out as horses do.
