Backstory:

Calypso was adopted through the Loshenka Associations Adoption Center. She caught Laceys eye in an ad and immediately made plans to go see her. Instantly, she fell in love the sweet personality of the mare and her stocky build, along with the luscious mane and tail that she adorned. She wasn't broke yet but had her groundwork done. She filed the paperwork for her and set off instantly to get her home.

Calypso wasn't the first Loshenka Rendezvous Ranch had seen. A few months prior a mare named Ivory had been there and been tested for ranch work as Freja had picked her out at the same Adoption Center, but the mare made herself very clear; Ivory was NOT a cow horse. When Ivory was sent to Michigan, the ranch needed a new long-tailed equine.

Calypso was soon started under saddle and took to it like nothing. The clever filly is a ranch favorite despite being green broke, and is quickly becoming known as a reliable mount.

Quirks and Behaviors:

She struggles with picking up the correct lead and may take a few tries to pick it up, and if that doesn't work, pull her into smaller circles.

She will accept a back cinch but will buck if it is constantly too tight.

She will do the high-knees with any type of boots. Bell, splint, shipping, any.

Fly masks are not safe on her. She will find anything to rub against to get them off. However, she loves her fly boots and will never contest a rain sheet.

She loves penning and cutting cattle. She knows she looks great doing it too.

She would've made a great cross country horse. Calypso loves going up steep hills and charging through water. Cattle drives and rough trail rides are her favorite.

Carrots are not safe if she can smell them. Nor is peppermint anything. Cookies, candies, or otherwise.

Notes:

Green broke. Not tested on young or novice riders. Safe for anyone to handle on the ground. Dog & small animal safe. Livestock safe. Middle of the totem pole in a herd.
